BW3 Initiatives

WBG_logo_compressedWythenshawe Business Gateway (WBG)

Using various local venues, the Gateway events have become statutory dates in the local business diary with between 80 and 100 businesses typically attending.   The Gateway format includes updates for members, inspiring speakers such as Mike Kane (MP), Sir Richard Leese and Darren Burns, Timpsons, plus plenty of time to network and form new business relationships. With five Business Gateway events each year, why not take advantage of this informal opportunity to meet influential professionals including community leaders, council representatives, business owners and individuals working in and around the area.

Aspirational Mentoring

Mentoring-image-compressedBW3 has achieved its goal to supply a mentor to every sixth form student at the Manchester Enterprise Academy. Our next goal is to enable every sixth form student in Wythenshawe who wants a mentor, to have a mentor! Could you be our next mentor, school or student mentee?

Through business sponsorship of this initiative, mentors  receive free training, a guidance booklet, hints, tips, case studies and a support network. All we ask is that you meet your mentee regularly, one-to-one during term time, and that you share your work and learning experiences.

Every child deserves to be the best that they can be; BW3 aspirational mentors help them discover and reach their potential.

Did you know that volunteering improves employee engagement and reduces absence? So why not facilitate this for your employees or members?

Numbers at Work

IMG_3392-compressedThese interactive workshops prove to local year 6 students that maths and problem solving can be fun and engaging, as well as being an essential tool and qualification in life.

With sponsorship, BW3 run workshops at different primary schools throughout the year and the feedback from students, teachers and volunteers is that they are “amazing”!

Current workshop providers include Manchester Airport Group, Microsoft, The One Advice Group, City in the Community and Wythenshawe Community Housing Group – WOW Zone.

Would your company like to design and deliver a workshop? The more providers we have on board, the more workshops we can deliver. And what a line-up of companies BW3 currently have delivering these fun half day activities.
